Our Interdisciplinary Team

Our services are provided by a team of skilled, compassionate medical professionals.

The care at Southern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital is provided under the direction of a physician who is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), also known as a physiatrist. The physician works together with patients, their family members, and an interdisciplinary team of rehabilitation experts to coordinate a treatment plan that is based on each patient’s personal needs, abilities, and goals.

Members of this interdisciplinary team may include:

  • Speech-language pathologists

    Before his illness, 30-year-old Nathan Odle lived a full, active life. He worked at Delta Faucet, enjoyed spending time with friends, and had recently purchased a new truck. But his world turned upside down when a viral infection led to a rare neurological complication that left him unable to walk.

    What began as an infection in his pinky toe quickly developed into necrotizing fasciitis with sepsis. After undergoing a below-the-knee amputation, Larry and his family chose SKY Rehab for its prosthetic training program.

    To begin her recovery, Allyson came to Southern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital (SKY Rehab), where she started intensive therapy to rebuild her strength and independence. In the months that followed, she underwent two brain surgeries to help lower her risk of future strokes. After each procedure, Allyson returned to SKY Rehab, determined to keep pushing forward.

But living with chronic Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS)—an autoimmune disorder that affects the peripheral nervous system—means Ashley faces daily challenges many don’t see.
