Support Group – Parkinson’s

SOUTHERN KENTUCKY REHABILITATION HOSPITAL IS SOUTHERN KENTUCKY’S LEADING ACUTE REHABILITATION HOSPITAL.
When faced with Parkinson’s Disease related challenges, it’s important to have emotional support. This is why we created a network to connect patients and loved ones with others during their journey.

Seeking support from others who’ve experienced Parkinson’s Disease can be a huge benefit to recovery and Parkinson’s Disease support groups afford the opportunity to share feelings, ideas and resources. Our meetings are designed for the patient and the caregiver. Each month we will provide support, inspiration, motivation, education and practical tips to help you on your journey.

Recent Success Stories from SKY Rehab

Nathan Odle
Before his illness, 30-year-old Nathan Odle lived a full, active life. He worked at Delta Faucet, enjoyed spending time with friends, and had recently purchased a new truck. But his world turned upside down when a viral infection led to a rare neurological complication that left him unable to walk.
Larry Hatfield
What began as an infection in his pinky toe quickly developed into necrotizing fasciitis with sepsis. After undergoing a below-the-knee amputation, Larry and his family chose SKY Rehab for its prosthetic training program.
Allyson Gaddis
To begin her recovery, Allyson came to Southern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital (SKY Rehab), where she started intensive therapy to rebuild her strength and independence. In the months that followed, she underwent two brain surgeries to help lower her risk of future strokes. After each procedure, Allyson returned to SKY Rehab, determined to keep pushing forward.
Ashley Borne
As a stay-at-home mom of four, Ashley Borne’s life is full of joyful chaos. From band to JROTC, archery to dance, she and her husband are always on the go with their children. But living with chronic Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS)—an autoimmune disorder that affects the peripheral nervous system—means Ashley faces daily challenges many don’t see.
